Assessments

Understanding your child's learning. Clearly, honestly, expertly.

Qualified, standardised assessments that give schools and families the clarity they need to provide the right support.

Psychometric Assessments

We assess learners,
wherever they are.

Comprehensive, professionally conducted psychometric assessments, delivered remotely or in-person. Flexible, valid and designed to fit around your setting, not the other way around.

Whether you're a school looking to assess a cohort, a SENCO managing an EAA application, or a parent seeking answers, we make the process simple, valid and genuinely useful. A good assessment does more than produce a report. It helps teachers understand how a child learns, helps parents advocate with confidence, and gives schools the evidence they need to put the right support in place.

We use a suite of standardised, nationally recognised assessment tools, administered by qualified and experienced assessors. Our reports are clear, jargon-free and designed to be genuinely useful in practice — giving schools, families and professionals clear evidence to guide next steps. Our assessments can also provide evidence for Exam Access Arrangements and EHCP applications, where appropriate.

Our approach

We look for strengths
not just challenges.

Every learner has a unique cognitive profile. Our assessments are not designed to label, they are designed to illuminate. By identifying how a young person thinks best, what environments support them, and where their natural strengths lie, we give educators and families a truly actionable picture.

Our reports are written to be read by parents, teachers and SENCOs alike. They are clear, jargon-light, and always framed around what the learner needs to thrive.

Strengths-based

Where a learner's thinking style gives them a genuine advantage, and how to build on it.

Barriers to Learning

Identifying what may be getting in the way, so it can be addressed clearly and early.

Classroom Strategies

Practical, evidence-based recommendations for teachers. Written to be used, not merely filed.

Wellbeing & Belonging

Understanding emotional and social factors so learners feel safe, seen and supported.

What we assess

A comprehensive suite of psychometric assessments.

Every assessment process is conducted by a qualified psychometric assessor and followed by a detailed, strengths-based written report; clear, jargon-light, and built to be genuinely used by schools, SENCOs and families.

Literacy, Reading & Written Output

A detailed look at a child's reading, writing, spelling and comprehension skills. It identifies specific gaps and strengths, giving schools and families the information needed to put the right support in place.

Dyslexia Screener & Profiling

A targeted assessment identifying whether a child shows key indicators associated with dyslexia, including phonological processing, working memory and processing speed. Identifies the nature of difficulties and the strengths to build on. Not a diagnosis, but a highly informative profile.

Attention & ADHD Profile

A structured assessment exploring attention, working memory and executive functioning. It doesn't provide a diagnosis, but builds a detailed profile that informs diagnosis pathways, school provision and helps families understand their child's needs. Also useful for a strengths based approach following diagnosis.

Exam Access Arrangements Assessment

A range of JCQ-compliant assessments covering processing speed, working memory and literacy, used to evidence the need for extra time, scribes, readers and other arrangements. Valid across a range of exam boards, including Edexcel, OCR, AQA Cambridge International and IB.

Working Memory and Processing Speed

We can explore how a child takes in, retains and processes information. It provides a detailed profile to inform targeted support and intervention planning.

Flexible delivery

Remote, or in-person, we come to you.

Individual assessments can be delivered entirely remotely. The school or family simply provides a quiet room, a desktop or laptop, headphones and one trusted adult to observe. No SENCO time required, and results remain fully valid for EAA purposes.

Group assessments are conducted on-site. We also offer in-school visits for individual assessments depending on your location. Get in touch for a tailored quote.

For remote individual assessments, you'll need:
A desktop or laptop Standard equipment. No specialist software required, just an internet connection.
Headphones To ensure audio clarity during administered tasks.
A quiet room Any space free from distractions, at school or at home.
One trusted adult to observe For instance, a TA, other member of staff, or a parent at home.
For parents & families

No school referral needed. Assessments can be arranged privately at home.

If you've been waiting for your school to act, you don't have to. These assessments can be conducted in your own home — all you need is a quiet room, a laptop and a parent or trusted adult present. A full written report is provided, which can be shared with the school, a GP, or used to support a referral.

FAQs

Common questions.

Can you diagnose dyslexia or ADHD?
No. Our assessments are not diagnostic assessments. They provide a detailed profile of learning, attainment, processing, attention, working memory and other relevant areas. Where a formal diagnosis may be appropriate, we can advise you on the most suitable pathway.
Can the assessment be completed remotely?
Yes. Most assessments can be completed remotely, depending on the assessment being used, the age of the child and the purpose of the assessment. We will confirm whether a remote assessment is appropriate when discussing your requirements.
What assessments do you use?
We use a suite of standardised, nationally recognised assessment tools selected according to the reason for assessment. These can assess areas such as attainment, literacy skills, processing speed, working memory, recall and executive function. We will recommend the most appropriate assessment for the individual pupil or school.
What qualifications does the assessor have?
Our assessments are administered by a qualified psychometric assessor who holds a recognised CCET qualification, verified by the British Psychological Society (BPS). This qualification sets the standard for educational assessment and enables the assessor to administer, score and interpret standardised psychometric and educational tests. The assessor is also an accredited member of the British Psychological Society (BPS). We can provide further information about the assessor's professional qualifications when you enquire, so you can be confident that your assessment is being conducted by someone appropriately trained and experienced.
How long does an assessment take?
This depends on the type and purpose of the assessment. We will explain what is involved, including the expected assessment time, when your assessment is arranged.
How long does it take to receive the report?
Reports are normally provided within an agreed timeframe following the assessment. The exact timescale will depend on the assessment and the level of reporting required, and will be confirmed when your assessment is booked.
Can assessments be used for Exam Access Arrangements?
Yes. Where the relevant criteria are met, our standardised assessment results and reports can provide evidence to support applications for Exam Access Arrangements. We can discuss the specific evidence required for your setting before the assessment takes place.
Can the report be used as evidence for an EHCP?
Yes. Our reports provide clear, standardised evidence about a child's strengths, needs and learning profile. This can contribute to the wider evidence base used when requesting or reviewing an EHCP. An assessment report does not, on its own, determine whether an EHCP is appropriate.
Can parents book an assessment directly?
Yes. Parents can contact us directly to discuss their child's needs and the reason for seeking an assessment. We will help identify the most appropriate assessment and explain the process before anything is booked.
Can a school commission an assessment directly?
Yes. Schools can commission assessments directly, with appropriate parental consent. We can support individual pupils, groups or cohorts and can discuss arrangements that work around the school's timetable and priorities.
What age range do you assess?
Our assessments are designed for school-age children and young people, although the appropriate age range depends on the specific assessment being used. Please contact us with the child's age and the reason for assessment and we can advise on suitability.
